So Much Happening!

I am mad at myself that we have not blogged for 10 days, but in my defense there is SO much happening in our room it's hard to find the time:)

We are getting into the groove with Daily 5: Read-to-Self, Read-to-Someone, and (our revised version) Write-to-Self.  They are writing us letters about books that they are reading to themselves and their letters have made me want to read their books!  I can't believe that we've only had these students for a few weeks, they are already thriving.

I know Lisa is looking forward to the long weekend; I, too, will enjoy the time off.  But I am anxious to get back to it on Tuesday, I miss these kids when I'm not with them. 

We got the students blogging this week, only Kidblog so it's secure and you can't see it quite yet.  But, they are loving it!  We are going to add it as a choice to our reading block, along with other Daily 5 choices.  As you can see we are taking the amazing ideas from Daily 5 and tweaking them slightly for our students.
