Oreo Moon Phases

Thanks to Pintrest, our students learned about the phases of the moon in a tasty way!

After studying the phases of the moon and why there are phases: students were given 7 Oreo cookies, shown the above picture, and told to make their cookies look like the model.

Students were quite excited to figure out how to get the creme out of the center to make their cookies match the moons...most used their teeth as tools:)

Their cookies were glued to their plates once they were finished putting them in the correct order of the phases.  Don't worry, they had lots of extra pieces that they ate.

Students then labeled each moon phase and put their model into a large Ziploc baggie.  The baggies are hanging outside our room, you would not believe the sweet smell in our area of the hallway;)
